Level 2
We finish looking at the present indicative, including irregular verbs and certain verbs such as hacer. The difference between ser and estar, is explored, followed by tener and haber. We also begin to study the present progressive. You learn to use direct and indirect objects, possessive adjectives, and are able to distinguish between muy and mucho, then por and para. By the end of Level 2, you are able to carry on a conversation in a restaurant, gym or shop, and to talk about geography using vocabulary about the family, sports, animals, time, purchases and vacations, and numbers up to 1,000.

Level 3
The course begins with a review of verbs already learned and new travel vocabulary: luggage, hotels, food, the environment, numbers and transportation. You master the present progressive and direct and indirect object pronouns. You can now express tastes and preferences using the verbs gustar, molestar, encantar and aburrir. Learning the present perfect lets you describe events in the past. You study the imperative, enabling you to give instructions, advice and permission, and to advise against, ask for information and make invitations. Demonstrative and reflexive pronouns are also covered, as are articles and possessive pronouns. You are now able to organize meetings and talk about your daily activities.

Again, we begin with a review of earlier material: direct and indirect objects; the verbs ser, estar, haber and tener in the present indicative and present perfect. You finish learning the imperative, and learn new prepositions of place and time as well as adjectives and indefinite pronouns. Vocabulary about health and consulting a medical professional are also studied. Now is the time to tackle the immediate future, preterite and preterite imperfect so you can describe events in the past, present and future. Comparative adjectives are also examined. Your vocabulary grows, enabling you to accurately and effectively express your feelings and emotions.

We look at expressions and conjunctions that demand use of the subjunctive. You learn to react to different day-to-day situations and to express doubt, desire and preference. The study of the imperative, both positive and negative, lets you give advice, advise against and give instructions. You will also learn conditionals, both simple and compound, and how to use them to express probability, give advice and make suggestions.
